LIVERPOOL St Helens can draw breath this week with a blank Saturday in the fixture list, having lost no games to the weather so far.
The last two weekends have seen two very different performances, both with the same result, four winning points.
The cultured win at Sale followed by the hard slog at home to Widnes are the latest of their ten winning games this season which alongside the draw against Altrincham Kersal sees them in second place just one point behind Sale FC.
The one defeat, at home to Vale of Lune, is still felt by many at the Lane to be an injustice but the team have put this behind them as they continue to progress match by match.
Director of Rugby Martin Jones, delighted with the last two wins, is preparing his charges for two crucial encounters in the run up to the Christmas break.
Firstly LSH travel to Wirral, always a well organised and dangerous outfit, before entertaining third placed Carlisle in mid December.
The Cumbrians are having a tremendous season and are only two points behind LSH. “We are in a good position” said Jones, “ but it is essential that we finish off 2012 with two more wins.”
