Lymm golfer Luke Burrows named Cheshire player of the year

LUKE BURROWS is the first Cheshire Player of the Year winner. The new award is based on the performances of the county players throughout the year.

The Lymm GC golfer played nine matches out of a possible 10, losing only two games. That gave him a tally of 39 points from a possible 45, plus a bonus of 13, to seal a clear victory over England international Oliver Carr (Heswall GC) on 43 points from six matches. In third was County Captain Dave Peel with 42 from eight appearances, including his 150th for the county.

Henry Featherstone (Ringway) topped the Cheshire Order of Merit ahead of Dominic Barnes (Caldy) and Mark Geddes (Prenton) tied on second.
