CALDY eventually managed to secure their fourth successive win with a rousing second half performance after a dismal first half for both sides, beating Bromsgrove 21-10.
Both sides managed to score two tries with the boot of Vasey being the difference between the two sides after Bromsgrove missed several chances at goal.
The first half was littered with mistakes. Caldy were first on the scoreboard with a penalty from Vasey on one of their few forays in the first half. Bromsgrove scored the only try of the first half as hooker George Glenn touched down out wide. Caldy finished the half with a cheeky drop goal from Vasey to take a half time lead.
Caldy came out flying in the second half and Vasey kicked a penalty before Gavin Roberts scored Caldy’s first try. Vasey converted. Jack Parker increased Caldy’s lead with a score out wide, after a period of good possession, as Caldy took a 21-5 lead. Back rower David Hughes powered over the line to reduce the deficit to 11 points.
