LIVERPOOL St Helens made the perfect start to the New Year with a convincing 25-6 victory at Altrincham Kersal.
The value of the win should not be underestimated as LSH have not had much joy in recent times at Stelfox Avenue and a strong performance built on hard graft earned the points.
Widnes’ win over Sale FC was well received at Moss Lane as this now moves LSH back on top of North One West for the second time this season. No-one is getting too excited though, as just three points separate LSH, Sale, Carlisle and Vale of Lune in a congested top four, with Vale having the advantage of a game in hand.
