BIRKENHEAD Park should at last be able to resume their relegation battle in National Three North after a month without a game when they travel to Billingham on Saturday.
Park face a difficult task as they bid to avenge a home defeat by the North East outfit back in October. With further wintry weather forecast Park will be keeping one eye on the weather prior to the scheduled early morning departure.
Park player coach Shaun Woof said: “The squad has continued to work hard to build fitness levels during the prolonged period of inactivity. We need to hit the ground running but Billingham will be a really tough test for us. A positive return from this game would be a massive boost to our survival hopes.”
Birkenhead are hoping a number of key players will be fit to resume after injury including influential skipper Dave Hall.
The Park Wanderers scored a second successive victory to go top in the Bateman BMW Premiership beating Liverpool St Helens 62-19 following an excellent away win at Vale of Lune last week.
