A THRILLING game at Paton Field saw eight tries scored in a fantastic advert for National Two North rugby.
Caldy scored five of those tries and continued their excellent recent form with a well deserved victory.
Craig Smithson, the Caldy number 8, was immense throughout the game.
Caldy got off to a quick start with an early penalty from Rich Vasey and it looked like the scores would stay the same until JJ Dickinson broke the line and touch down for Caldy.
Adam Aigbokhae increased the Caldy lead to 15 with some excellent support play after a fine break by Harry Broadbent.
Andrew Soutar powered over at the start of the second half and a conversion and penalty from Rich Vasey took Caldy into a 25-0 lead.
Hull then sprang into action.
Two tries in quick succession first from Piercy and then Slingsby brought the visitors to within 11 points as their confidence grew.
Vasey eased the concerns with a smart drop goal before Soutar’s tenacious play at the breakdown resulted in the referee awarding a penalty try for holding on and preventing a try.
Gavin Roberts increased the Caldy lead to 41-14 before a late Daniel White try rewarded Hull for their endeavours.
