BIRKENHEAD PARK put up a good show against high flying Harrogate in difficult conditions at the Upper Park on Saturday but it was not quite enough to earn any points.
Park skipper Dave Hall opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a penalty and then hooker Stu Brown touched down after a determined forward drive. Hall converted to give Park a 10-0 lead and a major upset looked within Birkenhead’s grasp until Harrogate responded to win 24-10.
Things are unlikely to get any easier for Park this week when third placed Sandal are the visitors. Kick-off is 3pm.
