Waterloo U16s 18L’pool Collegiate U16s 5
WATERLOO booked a place in the Lancashire Cup U16s Final with a fine win over Liverpool Collegiate at St Anthony’s Road.
Right from the kick off, the match was played at a frenetic pace.
Waterloo drew first blood when centre Tom Cannon slotted over from 20 metres to take a three point lead.
They continued to pile on the pressure and it paid off when winger Mark Haldane-Bennett squeezed into the corner to score a well deserved try and increase the lead.
But from the restart, the Collegiate backs burst into action and scored to make it 8-5 at half-time.
After the restart, Haldane-Bennett popped up at just the right time to finish off a flowing backs move to score his second try of the day. And Josh Jenkins crashed over late on for the winning score.
The Waterloo lads now face a tasty final against Manchester, which will be played at Southport Rugby Club on April 28.
