WATERLOO director of rugby Jan Van Deventer declared himself happy with his side’s performance this season.

Deventer, whose men had the weekend off, says the top half of the table is their goal.

“We are in a good place at the moment compared where have been over the past few seasons,” he said.

“We are in ninth place and still have a chance of making the top half.”

Waterloo are on 52 points, just two behind the three clubs above them – Billingham, Rossendale and Lymm. With Billingham away next week and Lymm away in the final game of the season, the chance is there.

“It is important that we don't get too far ahead of ourselves and just concentrate on the next game," Deventer added.
