Hammad puts on star turn for Norley

ALL-ROUNDER Hammad Tariq, with an undefeated 52 and a 6-31 haul, played a key role for Norley Hall in a 10-wicket success over visiting Caldy in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance.

Peter Kay contributed 42 as the Norley openers put on 96.

Pakistan overseas player Khuran Shazard made an impressive debut for Rainhill with an undefeated 147 against Southport Trinity, who were beaten by 166 runs.

Tony Wilding enjoyed a 7-13 haul as Trinity were shot out for 55.

Sutton secured an excellent 47-run triumph at Alder.

Joe Harvey led the way with 66 and Sean Anders finished with 5-27.

Birkenhead St Mary’s dismissed Manweb for just 28 after themselves making only 92. Shakeel Nawaz had a 7-10 haul. Trevin Kurukalasooriya took 4-17 for the losers.

Burscough saw off Haydock by eight wickets. Ken Hughes was undefeated on 58 and Richard Powell took 4-64. Paul Roberts hit 45 not out for Haydock.

Parkfield Liscard easily won the local derby at Tranmere Vics by nine wickets. John McClennan claimed 5-6 as Vics totalled only 66.

Prescot & Odyssey hung on for a draw at Moorfield, finishing 23 runs adrift with their last pair together. Rob Yearsley 72 and Mark Brick 45 batted well for Moorfield. Barry Keeble hit 48 for the combined side and Venkat Mudiliar 40.
