Hard lines for Bromborough as Cheshire triumph

A KNOCK of 81 and a 4-19 return by Anton Jastin earned Maritime an 84-run victory at Aigburth in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside Competition.

Steve McEwen finished with 6-56 for the losers.

Cheshire Lines came away eight-wicket winners from Bromborough where Mike Holmes scored an undefeated half-century and Mike Jackson took 4-15.

Goodlass lost by 56 runs at home to Singlehurst. Alex Brown made 71 and Steve Jamieson 40 for the winners.

Old Xaverians saw off St Mary’s College Old Boys by eight wickets and Port Sunlight eased past Hale by 10 wickets.

Whitefield had 71 runs to spare at Shaftesbury. Paul Dwerryhouse jnr top-scored with 48, Majid Majeed took 4-5.

Runcorn lost by 13 runs against Brooklands in Division One of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League.

Chester County Officers won in Division Two, but in Division Three Parkonians, Wirral and Castrol Superseal all lost.
