BIRKENHEAD ST MARY’S maintained winning form in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance in a thriller at Rainhill which went to the last over.

The Saints got home by five wickets with Shakeel Nawaz hitting an unbeaten 80 and Steve McGenity 66.

Khuran Shazard struck 70 for Rainhill and Mike Rotheram 65. Mizan Haq claimed 5-46 for the winners.

Caldy secured their first win by eight wickets against Haydock. Rich Battersby took 8-22 as the visitors were dismissed for just 65.

Norley Hall had a similar margin against Sutton who also totalled just 65 as Matt Norval claimed 7-14. Hammad Tariq was undefeated on 41 for Norley.

Moorfield made it by 66 runs at Tranmere Vics. Mark Brick (70) and Rob Yearsley (53) helped Moorfield to declare on 187-4.

Vics recovered from 9-6 to total 121 with Ed Briers, batting at number 10,inishing on 41 not out.

Liam Drane took 4-22 for the winners.

The last Prescot & Odyssey pair hung on for 10 overs to deny Manweb.

Peter Crookes top scored with 72 for the electric men.

Trevor Fabien contributed 48 and also took 6-60.

Adam Young hit an unbeaten 105 for Parkfield Liscard in a draw at Alder.

Kamran Hussein made 79 and Grant Hughes 50.

Mohammed Masroor hit 68 for Alder who closed 99 runs adrift with three wickets intact.

The Burscough v Southport Trinity game was another to end in stalemate.

Best for Trinity were Chris Hodge (43) and Anthony Hall with 4-22.
