Leaders Birkenhead St Mary’s facing Alder test

BIRKENHEAD ST MARY’S with five wins to date lead the way in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance.

They face an interesting home clash with Alder today when much could depend upon the performances of all rounders Shakeel Nawaz for Birkenhead and Mohammed Masroor for Alder.

Parkfield Liscard have not enjoyed the best of fortunes so far but overseas man Adam Young is making his mark. He hopes to build on his unbeaten 105 last week when the combined side entertains Burscough.

Tranmere Vics are finding the going tough but should have a chance of a first win away to Liverpool Manweb who have faired no better although they produced their best showing to date against Prescot & Odyssey last week in a draw.

Caldy hope to build on their first win at Sutton whose batsmen will need to be wary of Rich Battersby who had an eight wickets haul in his last game

Khuran Shazard after knocks of 147 not out and 70 will hope to stay amongst the runs for Rainhill who are due at Moorfield for whom Mark Brick is showing steady form with the bat.

Port Sunlight after a first defeat last Saturday face an interesting home clash with Aigburth in the Merseyside Competition. Runcorn in Division One of the Meller Braggins Cheshire League have Oakmere as visitors.
