BROMBOROUGH Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance leaders Alder cruised to a nine wickets home victory against lowly Tranmere Vics.
Ken Highdale hit an undefeated 55 and Ashley McDonald 45 with Alan Durand claiming 4-16. Skipper Andrew Wood made 45 for Vics.
Burscough and Rainhill were also winners by nine wickets. Burscough accounted for Manweb who totalled just 73 with Dave Atherton finishing with 6-27.
Khuran Shazzard struck a fine unbeaten century for Rainhill against Prescot & Odyssey and their best bowler was Tony Wilding with 4-31.
Parkfield Liscard returned to winning ways at Haydock with a margin of 79 runs. Grant Hughes top scored with 68.
Caldy took the local derby against Birkenhead St Mary’s by four wickets. Anthony Same reached 56 not out and Haroon Khan claimed 5-26.
Sutton held on for a draw at home to Southport Trinity. Dave Andrew contributed 85 for Trinity and Anthony Hall took 4-31. Sean Anders finished with 6-77 for Sutton.
Norley Hall were denied by the last Moorfield pair in a high scoring clash. Rashid Riaz made 117 for Norley. Mark Brick was out two short of a half century for Moorfield.
