RAINHILL are the new leaders of the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance.
They edged a point ahead of Alder after beating them by 113 runs at Victoria Terrace.
Khuran Shazzard was the key man with another excellent knock of 127 followed by a 5-25 haul.
Mohammed Masroor scored 45 for the losers and Ashley McDonald finished with 4-56.
Burscough are joint second with Alder following a comfortable eight-wicket win at Tranmere Vics, where John Davies made 51 not out and Madura de Silva took 4-26.
Birkenhead St Mary’s returned to winning ways against luckless Haydock, who, like Tranmere, are still to taste victory.
The visitors reached 237-5, but the Saints hit off the runs for the loss of just one wicket with Mizan Hag on 147 not out and Steve McGenity unbeaten on 69.
Andy Lyon made 91 for Haydock and Sid Southwood 40.
Manweb celebrated their first success by 95 runs against visiting Norley Hall. Trevor Fabien played a key part with a 7-35 haul. Peter Hollingrake took 4-32 for Norley.
Caldy’s winning run ended at Moorfield who made it by 14 runs.
John Eccleshall 47 and Mark Reynolds 4-28 were best for the winners.
Anthony Sams scored 48 for Caldy and Rich Battersby finished with 4-67.
Parkfield Liscard saw off Sutton by 142 runs.
Kamran Hussein top-scored with 115 and John McClennan had a good game with 57 not out and 4-41.
Adam Young was the other bowler to shine with 4-28.
Steve Holden claimed 4-36 for Prescot & Odyssey in a home draw against Southport Trinity.
