EFC manager David Moyes, shouting _320
Manager David Moyes is confident Everton are ready for Manchester City after recovering from the brutal blow of conceding a late winner last time out.
The Toffeemen appeared to have rescued a point against Aston Villa last weekend after Joleon Lescott’s volley made it 2-2, but Ashley Young then scored a fabulous stoppage-time goal to stun Goodison Park.
As he prepares his side for Everton’s visit to Eastlands to face Manchester City tomorrow, Moyes insists his side can bounce back from the defeat.
He said: "I think we have got over it. It is never easy to take. It is always hard for players and managers to lose like that but it’s gone now and we have moved on.
"The performance was very good and we played as well as we did against Tottenham Hotspur the week before which (was a match) we won but that is football for you.
"That’s what makes it great. We have won a few games late on ourselves this season and maybe not played so well, so maybe it was a wee taste of our own medicine, but nevertheless it was a good old-fashioned game.
"I think you do need lifting after a performance like that but you have to move on, we can’t dwell on it but it was certainly a severe kick where it hurts.
"It was hard to take and we had deservedly got back to equalise and we could have won it with more time."
Moyes will be glad to take his side back on the road as Everton are currently the Premier League’s third most successful team away from home, with only title rivals Liverpool and Chelsea surpassing their tally of 16 points on their travels.
