DAVID MOYES does not expect Rafael Benitez’s contract wrangle to affect Liverpool this evening.
Benitez revealed on Friday that he has rejected the offer of a new four-and-a-half-year deal at Anfield.
Speculation has surrounded the Spaniard’s future plans for some time, a similar situation to the one Moyes found himself in throughout much of last year.
The Everton manager eventually quashed rumours of a possible move away from Goodison Park by putting pen to paper on a lucrative five-year deal.
And Moyes dismisses the notion his players were ever hampered by the uncertainty surrounding his contract, and expects Liverpool’s players to take the same attitude with Benitez.
“I didn’t think that me not signing a contract was going to help other managers get results on Everton,” said the Everton manager. “I didn’t see it that way.
“So I don’t think Rafa or Liverpool will look at it like that. I’m sure they will get their business sorted out in their own time, like we did here.”
