Everton Kirkby inquiry: Stadium too close to homes, claim residents

View that residents of Whinberry Drive, Kirkby will have of proposed Everton stadium according to Grange Residents Association

It is not believed that those who are earmarked to benefit from this development, namely Tesco, the directors of Everton FC, Knowsley Council executives and those few people fortunate to be provided employment by this development, would pay the same price as the residents of the Grange Estate.

“It is for this reason that it is considered that the planning application should be rejected in its present form.”

Mrs Pethard’s evidence was the last that will be submitted to the inquiry.

Everton FC, Tesco, Knowsley Council and the opponents of the scheme will spend today thrashing out the details of a section 106 agreement outlining conditions that must be met should the scheme get the go ahead.

Now applicants and opponents are putting final touches to their closing speeches. The final group to lay out their case will be Everton FC and Tesco, to conclude by 1pm next Friday.
