A NEW book celebrating the unique nature of Merseyside’s football giants has been launched.
Across the Park is the latest work of amateur historian Peter Lupson, and charts the historic links between Everton and Liverpool, starting from their shared roots in St Domingo Chapel.
Mr Lupson, head of English at Kingsmead school, in Hoylake, and author of best-selling Thank God For Football!, was the driving force behind the restoration last year of the grave of the founding father of Merseyside football, the Rev Ben Chambers.
He said at the book launch: “Being a football fan from Norwich and moving to Merseyside is like someone who enjoys the movies going to live in Hollywood – it’s been a privilege to put this piece of work together.”
