JAMES VAUGHAN’S chances of a dramatic Wembley comeback have increased after an ill Louis Saha left David Moyes with an FA Cup semi-final selection worry.
Saha netted the winning goal against Middlesbrough in the quarter-finals to book Everton’s first trip to Wembley for 14 years.
However, Moyes is now keeping his fingers crossed that the French striker overcomes sickness to be available for selection against former club Manchester United.
If Saha is unable to recover then fit-again James Vaughan could be handed a comeback in dramatic circumstances.
Vaughan has not figured for the first team since the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at Goodison Park on November 16 and his only action since was a 68-minute run-out at Sunderland reserves last week.
But with Moyes’s striking options limited due to last season’s top scorer Ayegbeni Yakubu being ruled out for the season through injury and Jo, on-loan from Manchester City, cup-tied, Vaughan could yet figure at Wembley.
