LOUIS SAHA admits he can give “a lot, lot more” to the Everton cause after expressing frustration at his first season with the club.
Saha has made 25 appearances – 14 as substitute – since arriving at Goodison from Manchester United in August.
The France international missed a chunk of the winter period with a hamstring problem, and has since found himself in and out of the team.
With on-loan Brazilian striker Jo cup-tied for the FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 30, Saha is expected to be on the bench at least at Wembley and could yet force his way into the starting line-up.
And Saha said: “I do think that I can give a lot, lot more. It has been a season with a bit of frustration, but I have managed to feature in most games so I am happy with it.
“But as a striker we want more goals and more assists, and that’s what I am looking for.”
Saha, a substitute in Everton’s last three matches, has five goals this season and should be involved tomorrow when West Ham United visit for the last game at Goodison this season.
Saha has good memories of facing the Hammers, having struck two outstanding goals at Upton Park in November to help turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 victory.
“It would be nice to do that again,” added the striker. “We are confident at home, we have great fans and are really hard to beat. And we show great power and desire.”
Everton have won only one of their four league games since reaching the cup final, but are assured of UEFA Europa League qualification and a third successive top-six finish.
And Steven Pienaar has revealed manager David Moyes has been impressing on the squad that he wants an upturn in form ahead of Wembley.
Pienaar said: “The gaffer has been on our case to raise our game, so we can get to fifth place.
“We have got to keep focused on the matches we still have in the league.
“If we play with confidence and are winning games, we can take that confidence through to the final and that is what the gaffer wants us to do.
“We want to lift our performance in the last matches that we will play.
“But West Ham are fighting to get into Europe and we know that it is going to be a tough game.”
