Everton FC's Bill Kenwright and David Moyes
EVERTON owner Bill Kenwright has dismissed as “laughable” suggestions that his manager David Moyes will leave the club.
Moyes is constantly linked with Manchester United – if and when Sir Alex Ferguson stands down.
But Kenwright is convinced that the man who has taken Everton to their first FA Cup final since 1995 “is in it for the long haul”.
Moyes will lead out Everton at Wembley on May 30 against Chelsea having, according to Kenwright, “transformed this club from top to bottom”.
There have even been claims Moyes could join United as a number two to Ferguson before eventually taking over the reins himself.
Kenwright said: “It is laughable to suggest that David Moyes is going anywhere.
“We are more ambitious than any club, but we do not always have the resources. He knows that.
“But David has just signed a new long-term contract. Is he the kind of man who would do that if he is not going to stay here?
