David Moyes: I can still achieve my ambition at Everton

EVERTON manager David Moyes says he is not interested in a move to Celtic or anybody else – as he still believes the Goodison Park outfit can match his ambitions.

Moyes’s hopes of collecting the first silverware of his seven-year reign at Everton were dashed at Wembley on Saturday.

But the Scot has no intentions of moving elsewhere to try and fulfil his ambitions.

He said: “I’m not tempted to go anywhere. At the moment I’m the Everton manager, I’m a loyal person and I’ve got no reason to think that way.

“All I’m thinking about now is having a holiday and trying to bring in one or two players.

“There may well have been (interest from Celtic) but no that doesn’t interest me.”

“I’m really ambitious but I’m doing that and I’m making sure my chairman stays ambitious and making sure the club stays ambitious because we can’t stop.

“Last summer, around the same time of year as this, we’d finished fifth, I said ‘let’s have a go’. But we couldn’t quite get there so we went with what we had.

“We’re just not quite there again but we’ve not fallen away. Sometimes you have to persevere as a manager, you don’t always have big funds and I’m going to keep persevering and hopefully we’ll get there together.”
