Moyes is keen to build on the success of the most recent campaign, with the Goodison Park outfit having cemented their status among the upper echelons of the Premier League with a second consecutive fifth-placed finish as well as securing a first final appearance for the Scot.
But Everton’s continued improvement has brought their players to the attention of other clubs, with big-spending Manchester City again courting Joleon Lescott.
The Eastlands club, who have already spent £12million on Gareth Barry and are favourites to sign Carlos Tevez, were considering a move in January for Lescott and Mikel Arteta.
Moyes would not welcome any offer for Lescott, who this week expressed his delight at his time at Everton which has helped him become an England squad regular.
However, City – bankrolled by their billionaire Abu Dhabi owners – could still test the Goodison manager’s resolve with a significant bid.
