Everton bidding for French duo

EVERTON are set to make bids for St. Etienne's Blaise Matuidi and Rennes' Stephane M'Bia, according to reports.

It is suggested that the pair are set to become David Moyes' major summer signings at Goodison Park.

Matuidi is a highly-rated defensive midfielder, and is widely regarded as one of the finest players of his generation, and could leave Les Verts for a fee of around £8 million.

M'Bia is likely to cost slightly more than that, with club side Rennes saying the Cameroonian midfielder can leave if the £10 million price tag is met.

Coyle eyeing Jacobsen move

Burnley boss Owen Coyle has reportedly opened talks with Everton right-back Lars Jacobsen over summer switch.

The Denmark international endured an injury-plagued season at Goodison Park after arriving from Nuremberg 12 months ago following a shoulder injury sustained on international duty.

The 29-year-old did not feature until March but falls out of contract this month, although he was not formally released by the club last week which has led to speculation he will be offered fresh terms.
