Screwfix lookalike competition 250
Think you’re a dead ringer for Rooney, a Drogba doppelganger or your mate’s dad is the spitting image of Sven, then Screwfix wants to hear from you!
2009 marks ten years of the Screwfix Masters Football Cup, the flagship indoor football tournament which brings together legends of the game from English and Scottish clubs in venues across the UK.
Also making a comeback is the Screwfix Masters Look-a-Like competition, so if you think you turn heads with your famous features, then simply upload your mug shot to the leading trade retailer’s website at www.screwfix.com/football to win a prize that money can’t buy.
A winning ‘squad’ of Look-a-Likes will then be chosen to go head-to-head with the tournament finalists in the Screwfix Masters Cup Grand Final. The final, which takes place on 6 September at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, is the culmination of eight regional heats taking place through June and July.
Adam Benson, commercial manager, Masters Football UK, explains: “This season promises to be one of the greatest ever, thanks to a raft of high-profile players signing up to play, such as Ray Parlour, Lee Sharpe, Don Hitchinson and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.”
John Mewett, marketing director, Screwfix, adds: “It is brilliant to see so many legends of the game back in action on the pitch and we’re also looking forward to checking out some of the other ‘famous’ faces that make an appearance online through our Look-a-Like competition.”
The Mersey Masters crown was won for the second year running on 27th June by Tranmere Rovers who will compete in the National finals at Liverpool's ECHO Arena on September 6.
