Moutinho link renewed
Rumours of an imminent bid by Everton for Sporting Lisbon's Joao Moutinho have led to the Portuguese side declaring he is not for sale.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the player but Everton see the 22-year-old as the possible missing link that would push them into the top four in the table, but Sporting insist he is not for sale.
"Joao is essential to our project. He is captain and we are not interested in the sale," the club's president Jose Eduardo Bettencourt told Portuguese media.
Defour deal
Everton have reportedly launched a £12m bid for Standard Liege captain Stephen Defour, formerly the midfield partner of Toffees' record signing Marouane Fellaini at the Belgian club.
The attacking midfielder has been attracting interest from a host of clubs across Europe this summer.
