America can inspire Louis Saha and Jo says Everton FC manager David Moyes

DAVID MOYES believes Everton’s American experience can help bring the best out of top strikers Louis Saha and Jo.

This is the first time that Saha and the Brazilian international have been part of a pre-season tour with Everton but it is clearly an experience they are relishing.

Saha, in particular, has really caught the eye in Seattle and the quality of his shooting in training yesterday – with either foot – left his manager and team-mates enthusing.

Jo, too, was just as prolific in practice but it is the opportunity to get embedded into the ways of the squad that Moyes feels will really benefit the pair.

“It’s not really a case of bonding because our players have been with each other for a long period, we have quite a stable group,” said Moyes.

“From that point of view they are used to it. I think it’s a case of continuing what we have; we have a great group of lads who work well together.

“But Brazilian Jo is new, Louis Saha is still relatively new to how we do things, so there are one or two who are getting their first real taste of being away with us.”

Everton fly up to Edmonton tomorrow morning for a friendly against River Plate before moving on to Salt Lake City, where they will face the MLS All-Stars.
