America can inspire Louis Saha and Jo says Everton FC manager David Moyes

They are two intriguing fixtures but, while he is looking forward to them, Moyes is quick to stress that

it is all about building up to the date with Arsenal on August 15.

“You want to come and play good games, but you also want to come to a place where you are going to be able to put some good work in,” said Moyes, whose side have been based in Seattle since Monday

“You don’t fly halfway around the world just for the games. I use it to work with the players on the training ground and also to give the players a bit of free time for themselves.

“So it has to work right for me and it has to be the right place and at this present time we are enjoying Seattle.”

Tomorrow’s game is likely to see Joseph Yobo, Jack Rodwell, Tim Howard and Steven Pienaar all get a first bit of pre-season action under their belts and the last named of that quartet reckons it will be an ideal challenge for Everton.

“I’m looking forward to the game,” Pienaar said.

“I played against River Plate when I was at Ajax and they have some good players and are a good team.

“They are a big club and it will be an exciting game. It’s good for the fitness and you always get fitter by playing games.”
