Everton FC: Leon Osman taking tentative steps

Leon Osman

LEON OSMAN is taking cautious strides in his recovery from injury despite returning to training yesterday.

The midfielder has been out of action for two months with a broken foot but his return to action at Finch Farm was a welcome sight in the wake of Everton’s current injury crisis.

“I had my first training session and it went pretty well,” Osman said.

“I’ve still got quite a bit of work to do, but progress has started. I’m targeting each day as it comes at the minute, and we’ll go from there.”

Osman last played for Everton in the 1-1 home draw with Wolves on October 17.

Ahead of tomorrow’s final Europa League Group I dead rubber at home to BATE Borisov, he remains on an absentee list that also includes the likes of Phil Jagielka, Mikel Arteta, Phil Neville, Victor Anichebe, Joseph Yobo and Dan Gosling.
