Manager Alex McLeish admist Birmingham were a bit fortunate to earn a point at Everton

BIRMINGHAM manager Alex McLeish saw his side’s five-match winning stretch come to an end when they held on for a 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park yesterday.

But the former Scotland manager was delighted that his side moved back above Liverpool into seventh spot and remain unbeaten in nine Barclays Premier League games.

He was delighted to see his side earn a hard-earned point at Goodison.

McLeish said: “It is a good end to the run up to Christmas.

“We were hoping we would remain intact on this unbeaten run up to Christmas Day.

“To come to Goodison, not play that great and get a point I suppose is a fantastic bonus.”
