Everton’s early FA Cup exit was a huge disappointment after their thrilling run to the final last season.
And Phil Neville believes Moyes’s men owe it to their supporters to produce an instant response against Sunderland tomorrow night.
“When you get to the FA Cup final like we did last season you desperately want to go back to Wembley and return as the winners,” said Neville.
“It is the story of the FA Cup. I think if you start thinking about the couple of rounds in front of you then it comes and kicks you in the teeth.
“We let our fans down and it is important now that we bounce back next week starting with Sunderland.
“It was so disappointing. We lost the game in the first half because we didn’t start on the front foot. We didn’t have the same intensity we had last week against Manchester City.”
