EVERTON midfielder Landon Donovan believes the welcome he has enjoyed at Goodison has enabled him to be an instant hit.
The 27-year-old USA international has impressed in his four starts since arriving on a 10-week loan deal from LA Galaxy.
Donovan grabbed his first goal for the club in Wednesday night’s 2-0 win over Sunderland and admits he’s feeling right at home.
“Everyone has made me feel really comfortable,” he said.
“It’s been seamless for me since day one when I walked into the locker room and Phil Neville was in there and he just talked to me like I was part of the team.
“He made me feel normal and everybody is the same way.
“It’s so different to last year when I went to Germany (at Bayern Munich) and it took me a while to get going.
“You kind of get a sense of family and community here that I haven’t felt at other European clubs.
“I think that wears off on you and when you feel comfortable and you feel at home you’re going to play better.”
Donovan was delighted to open his account for David Moyes’ side in midweek but insists winning was all that mattered following Everton’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Birmingham City.
“It was a great feeling to score and the fact we won makes it even better,” he said.
