Everton will be without Marouane Fellaini as he nurses the ankle injury sustained by the red-card challenge from Liverpool centre-back Sotirios Kyrgiakos in Saturday’s derby defeat.
But the Goodison medical staff are still waiting to determine the full extent of the injury, with Fellaini due to visit a specialist in London yesterday until travel problems delayed the trip until tomorrow.
Moyes admits the in-form Belgian will be a huge absence as he seeks his first-ever win over Chelsea during his Goodison tenure. He said: “It is a massive blow to lose Felli. He has been a really influential player for us but at least, in terms of numbers, we are not struggling to fill that role now.”
Moyes must also decide on a midfield replacement for Steven Pienaar, who serves a one-match ban. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Seamus Coleman, Mikel Arteta and Jack Rodwell are among the players vying for a starting role.
