EVERTON Football Club’s chaplain, Reverend Harry Ross, was last night recovering in hospital after a suspected heart attack.
He was taken to Southport hospital and was transferred to Liverpool Heart and Chest hospital in Broadgreen yesterday morning.
His condition is said not to be serious and he is expected to be discharged within 48 hours.
Rev Ross, 68, has served at St Luke’s Evangelist church, next to Goodison Park stadium, since 1977.
Since the inception of the Everton former players’ foundation in 1999, Rev Ross has been a trustee of the organisation, which helps to raise money for former Everton stars with medical expenses.
The veteran vicar, lifelong Evertonian and a main stand season ticket holder, was wished a quick recovery by everyone at the club.
Everton spokesman Ian Ross told the Daily Post: “Reverend Harry Ross is in hospital at the moment.
“He went to Southport hospital first because he lives up that way and he is now in Broadgreen.
“He suffered some sort of heart attack and the hospital don’t think it is that serious. He will be discharged shortly.
