Everton FC complete sale of Lukas Jutkiewicz to Coventry City

EVERTON have completed the sale of striker Lukas Jutkiewicz to Coventry City for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old frontman, who scored 12 goals during a successful loan spell with Motherwell last season, has agreed a three-year deal at the Ricoh Arena.

Coventry had a season-long loan bid rejected by Everton last week but manager Aidy Boothroyd returned yesterday with a cash offer which was accepted.

“I’m really happy and really excited,” Jutkiewicz said.

“I’m not one to talk about myself, I will work as hard as I can in training and in games and let other people decide.

“I didn’t need much convincing. It is a big club with a big fan base.

“Once I had spoken to the manager I saw that he shared the same ambitions as me so it is a good fit.”

Jutkiewicz, who had one year to run on his current deal with Everton, made just one appearance for the club – as a substitute against Sunderland in December 2008 – after a £1million move from Swindon in 2007.

The youngster will play alongside another former Goodison favourite with veteran midfielder Lee Carsley handed the captaincy by Boothroyd following his arrival from Birmingham City.
