Steve Round: Everton FC’s Carling rout of Huddersfield provides David Moyes with a selection dilemma for Aston Villa

Jermain Beckford's first goal for Everton 300

STEVE ROUND admits Everton manager David Moyes has got a selection dilemma ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa after last night’s 5-1 thrashing of Huddersfield Town.

Everton cruised into the third round of the Carling Cup at Goodison with a scintillating attacking display.

Moyes made six changes after last Saturday’s disappointing draw with Wolves and three of those drafted into the side were on the scoresheet.

"The message to the players before the game was to keep playing the way you are and the results will follow," assistant manager Round said.

"There was no panic from the manager or pressure put on the players. Tonight we went out there and got the goals we deserved.

"David has got selection dilemmas everywhere and that’s down to the quality of the squad we’ve put together.

"Jack Rodwell and Seamus Coleman came in and did well, while with every training session and every game Marouane Fellaini is getting back to the standards he was at before he got injured last season.

"Up front we’ve got Jermaine Beckford who is looking a real threat and Louis Saha who can win a game on his own. It’s the kind of selection problems the manager welcomes.

"It’s nice to get our first win of the season and now we start preparing to face Villa. We’ve played well there in recent seasons and not quite got the results.

"It’s a matter of taking this performance in terms of the goal scoring into Sunday and hopefully get our first league win."
