Everton FC goalkeeper Tim Howard
TIM HOWARD believes Everton FC can revel in their role of underdogs once again when they look to extend their impressive run at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
David Moyes’s side visit Chelsea on Saturday, where they have not lost a Premier League match since being downed 3-0 in April 2006.
Everton are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions against the Londoners, who they defeated at home on the final day of last season having already knocked them out of the FA Cup.
Chelsea come to Goodison in a fortnight for a Carling Cup fourth round tie, but Howard is convinced Everton are in the mood to upset the formbook once again.
“We enjoy battling against the odds and proving people wrong,” said the goalkeeper.
“If there are doubters out there, it’s good to go out there and get on a run of form.
“We don’t have to go out and spend £100million, we know we can still go out and compete with the quality we have. It’s not always easy but we’ve shown that.
“We’ve got a great fighting spirit.
“We love to fight for the shirt and each other.
“We’ve got a grit and a determination about us that is hard to match and the top teams don’t enjoy playing Everton.”
