Landon Donovan
DAVID MOYES is ready to launch another attempt to bring Landon Donovan back to Everton on loan.
Donovan was a huge success during a 10-week spell on loan from Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy two seasons ago.
On arriving at Goodison in January 2010 with the MLS on its close-season break, the United States international scored twice in 13 appearances.
Moyes was keen to re-sign the 29-year-old winger on another short-term deal last season, only for Donovan to decline the offer and instead rest following his involvement in the previous summer’s World Cup.
Donovan this week helped LA Galaxy reach the MLS Western Conference final against Salt Lake City tomorrow by scoring in the second-leg 2-1 win over New York Bulls, which secured a 3-1 aggregate success.
And while Moyes admits there is no chance of a permanent transfer, he believes there is scope for another stint for Donovan at Everton – depending on the player’s fitness.
“Possibly, depending on how he sees where he is physically,” said Moyes. “We need to see where he is.
