Everton FC defender Leighton Baines hopes Wolves win will breed confidence ahead of weekend trip to Bolton

LEIGHTON BAINES hopes Everton FC can build on their weekend victory over Wolves when they travel to face Bolton on Saturday.

The England international left-back’s penalty gave David Moyes’ Everton FC side a much-needed 2-1 win over Mick McCarthy’s strugglers last weekend, and moved the Toffees up to 12th in the Premier League table.

Next up are another struggling side in Owen Coyle’s Bolton Wanderers.

And Baines hopes the confidence gleaned from last weekend’s success will stand them in good stead for Saturday’s trip to the Reebok Stadium.

“It is going to be another difficult game,” said Baines. “We have found it hard there the last couple of years.

“We know what it is about but we will take confidence from beating Wolves and may have relieved pressure on ourselves. Hopefully that will take the shackles off a little bit and allow us to play a bit more football.

“But it is a results-based business and at the moment the three points is all that matters.”
