Ian Doyle: Everton FC have the flair... the question is when and where

ANY team losing the likes of Steven Pienaar and Mikel Arteta is going to miss something in terms of creativity.

But, while David Moyes has rightly lamented their departure, it’s not as though the Everton manager is without flair in his squad.

The problem, as the Scot admitted this week, is allowing it to prosper within a winning team.

And victories are what the Goodison outfit need right now.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has plenty of natural talent but clearly isn’t strong enough for English football.

Louis Saha is too often injured, while Royston Drenthe is still finding his feet and Ross Barkley only just embarking on what Everton will hope is a lengthy career.

Whoever he selects, Moyes will certainly have his players fired up for Saturday’s trip to Bolton Wanderers, given the last visit to the Reebok in February, which ended in a 2-0 defeat, was described by the manager as one of the worst during his tenure.
