David Moyes 300
FRUSTRATED Everton FC manager David Moyes has warned supporters not to expect the floodgates to open at Goodison Park – despite EFC having 15 shots to Norwich’s one during Saturday’s draw and forcing 13 corners to nil.
Norwich scored with their only shot on target of the entire match, while Everton FC had to rely on a late leveller from Leon Osman.
And Moyes explained: “I think the players have played at a decent level, but just not been clinical to show off some of the play that we’ve had.
“But I’m not convinced that we’re suddenly going to score four or five against someone.
“I’d rather we were just winning the games two nothing and plodding on.
“I don’t think we’ve got lots of fives and fours at that end of the team. I’d rather we just spread the goals evenly.
“But it would be great if we could! I wouldn’t say no to it.”
And Moyes added that on-loan Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi may get the chance to show he can provide that extra goal threat after a bright half-hour’s cameo against Norwich.
“I’ve been thinking about giving Denis a go because I want to make sure we give everybody the chance to score us the goals,” said Moyes.
“Denis has looked better in recent weeks and the chance that fell to him, I’ve seen him score. He was top goalscorer in Argentina last season and I thought ‘this is it’ because I’ve seen him do it all the time and he does score goals.
