Jack Rodwell 300
JACK RODWELL may not feature again until the New Year after the Everton FC midfielder suffered another injury setback.
Rodwell aggravated a hamstring strain during the warm-up before Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw at home to promoted Norwich City.
While the 20-year-old subsequently took his place among the Everton FC substitutes, Moyes admits the player was unavailable for action.
Since making his full international debut for England a month ago, rib and hamstring problems have restricted Jack Rodwell to just a 27-minute appearance as a substitute in the home defeat to Stoke City.
And now the Everton FC midfielder is likely to miss tomorrow’s visit of Swansea City and the Boxing Day clash at Sunderland, with the New Year’s Day trip to West Bromwich Albion likely to be the next time he can be called upon.
Moyes said after Saturday’s game: “Jack was injured on the bench. He got injured in the warm-up again.
“He had a hamstring strain, as you know, but I got told just before kick-off that even if I needed Jack he wouldn’t be able to go on because he felt it in the warm-up.
“If he felt it against Norwich, I would think he wouldn’t be available for Wednesday night.”
Seamus Coleman missed the draw with the Canaries with a thigh strain, and is also likely to miss out tomorrow against Swansea.
Everton have won only three of their last 11 Premier League games and stand just four points adrift of the relegation zone, albeit with a game in hand.
