Leon Osman 300
DAVID MOYES paid tribute to match-winner Leon Osman after his goal gave Everton FC a 1-0 victory over Swansea City at Goodison Park.
The midfielder’s 60th minute header was the difference as Everton FC picked up a much-needed three points against Brendan Rodgers’ side, lifting themselves up to 11th in the Barclays Premier League table in the process.
Osman was also on target in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City, and Moyes believes the 30-year-old is making a welcome return to top form heading into the Christmas period.
Moyes said: “I think in the last few games, Leon Osman has come back to the sort of form we know him for. He got us a goal on Saturday, he got us one tonight and he is a really important member of the squad.
“He sometimes goes unnoticed, but I thought he was our best player on Saturday and again tonight. He has got an intelligence which we need to have in games like tonight, because Swansea are a top passing team and a very good team.
“He and Tony Hibbert are, as far as I’m concerned, part of the furniture here, and they sometimes get taken for granted a bit. But I’ve got to say, they are always there in our corner when we need it, and we needed it tonight.
“We needed to find a goal from somewhere, and Ossie was the man.”
