SYLVAIN DISTIN has hit back at suggestions Everton’s bubble has burst after defeat to Reading last weekend.
David Moyes’s suffered a shock reverse as the struggling Royals recorded their first Premier League win of the season at the Madejski Stadium last Saturday.
The 2-1 loss sent the Goodison outfit tumbling out of the top-four berth they have occupied for most of the season, with some pundits suggesting the result underlines why Champions League qualification will be beyond Moyes’s men.
However, Distin has launched a robust defence of Everton’s record, with only leaders Manchester City having lost fewer top-flight games this season.
And ahead of tomorrow’s visit of in-form Norwich City, the French defender said: “I don't think we have to send out a message to people – maybe only to the doubters.
“We don't doubt. We know where we are. There's only one team that's lost less games than us.
“We must be in the top six of the defensive rankings and the top six of the attacking ones. We've lost only two in 21 Premier League games.
“So I don't see why we have to send out a message. You just have to look at the stats, where we are in the table and how we much we've spent compared to where we finish, then that's our message.
