23. Seamus Coleman

Seamus Coleman 300

Position: right-back
Squad number: 23
DOB: 11 October 1988
Former clubs: Sligo Rovers
Transfer fee: £60,000

After a recommendation from Willie McStay to his former playing colleague David Moyes, Everton secured the services of Seamus Coleman from Sligo Rovers for the tiny sum of £60,000 in January 2009. His EFC career threatened to be over before he had even taken to the field after surgery was required on an infected foot blister, but thankfully Coleman pulled through.

Coleman made his Everton debut in a 5-0 Europa League loss to Benfica, before starring his first Premier League game after coming off the bench to replace Joseph Yobo against Spurs. He later spent a spell on loan at Blackpool in the Spring of 2010, helping them gain promotion to the top flight in the season's run-in.

His first goal for the Blues came in the Carling Cup in September 2010 against Brentford, in a game Everton eventually lost on penalties.
