Reds have held talks with the Rams over a temporary move for 20-year-old
The Anfield outfit have held talks with the Rams over a temporary move for the 20-year-old, who has only featured twice in the Premier League this season.
Wisdom was on the brink of joining Wigan Athletic on loan last month only for the plug to be pulled on the move after Glen Johnson suffered an ankle injury.
But with Johnson now fit, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to allow Wisdom to depart and gain further experience through regular first-team football.
Derby manager Steve McClaren made an approach for the England under-21 captain after centre-back Zak Whitbread – like Wisdom, a former Liverpool academy graduate – suffered a calf strain in the Rams’ 3-2 win over Watford on Saturday.
Wisdom made his senior Liverpool debut last season and went on to make 19 appearances, but was not among the substitutes for the 2-2 draw at Newcastle United on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson admits consistency will be the key to Rodgers’s side sustaining their challenge for Champions League qualification.
Liverpool stand in third place after eight games, two points adrift of leaders Arsenal with Southampton the only team to have beaten them during their last 20 Premier League outings.
And Henderson said: “Hopefully we will carry this good start to the season onwards.
“There is a long way to go so we will definitely just be keeping our feet on the ground and keep working hard in training.
“Come the end of the season, if we can keep our consistency going and playing the way we have, we will be okay. At the moment it looks pretty wide open at the top, but you never know how it’s going to turn out.
“Things can change at any time so we have just got to concentrate on ourselves and make sure we put in good performances every week.”
