NATIONAL train companies are hoping to give punters a stress-free trip to this year’s Grand National.
East Midlands trains will lay on extra carriages for people using its Nottingham to Liverpool line on Saturday.
That means more room for people travelling to Aintree from Chesterfield, Sheffield, Stockport, Manchester and Warrington.
NORTHERN Rail has boosted services from Preston to Ormskirk and Wigan Wallgate to Kirkby on Grand National day. A bus will ferry people from Kirkby station to Aintree.
MERSEYTRAVEL will run extra trains from Liverpool city centre to Aintree.
Passengers from Southport and Kirkby should change at Moorfields.
Passengers from Hunts Cross should change at Liverpool Central.
