Aces out of Bowl and for season

ACES Four will miss tomorrow’s totesport Bowl on the opening day of the Grand National meeting and will not run again this season.

Trainer Ferdy Murphy has decided to let nine-year-old, who was an impressive winner of the Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree last year, end his stop-start campaign early.

He has only run twice. He was pulled up on his seasonal debut in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby in November, then when disappointing over hurdles at Market Rasen.

Murphy said: “Graham (Lee) came to work him this morning and he worked well enough but we looked at the race and decided against it. We thought we may as well wait for next year with him.”
