Connections hope step in trip can help Multidimensional in Coronation

CONNECTIONS of Multidimensional are hoping the step up to 1m4f in tomorrow’s Juddmonte Coronation Cup at Epsom will bring out the best in him.

It looks a pretty hot contest with Coral and totesport 5-4 favourite Getaway heading a 11-strong field in the Group One event.

Henry Cecil’s five-year-old, who is a 33-1 chance with most firms, faces his biggest challenge to date having been fourth to Championship Point on his last start in the Huxley Stakes at Chester last month.

“We felt he needed to step up to a mile and a half and this is the first suitable opportunity for him to do so,” said Alan Cooper, racing manager to owners the Niarchos Family.

“He won his Group Two at Deauville on soft ground so I don’t think there will be any problems on that score. It’s a compe-titive field and we are looking forward to seeing Multidimen-sional run there.”

Frankie Dettori teams up again with the Brian Meehan-trained Red Rocks.

“Frankie has won two Breeders’ Cups for the owner. In both those races he gave Wilko and Red Rocks absolutely fantastic rides,” said Paul Reddam’s racing manager, Jamie McCalmont. “It sounds like a very exciting race. Everything is positive about the horse right now.”
